movie recs from old people

As great as contemporary films are theres a whole century of film that lies before us. Thats where older generations come in handy! Some of my favorite movie recommendations have come from my grandparents and friends of my parents. The Sting (1973), The Long Goodbye (1973), The Graduate (1967) were all recommendations of my grandpa, some of the greatest movies of all time hidden behind a mere expressed interest in older films. Everyone also loves movies and has a story related to them so they serve as a wonderful conversation starter for literary anyone of all ages.
